What is the difference between convoluted and flat acoustic foam?

Convoluted foam has an egg-box texture for enhanced sound diffusion, while flat foam offers a sleeker appearance and consistent performance.

Do you offer fire-resistant acoustic foam?

Yes. Our Class 0 Pyrosorb-S sheets are rated for high fire resistance. They meet UL94 HF1 and British safety regulations, including The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1989.

Can I get my acoustic foam cut to a custom size or shape?

How do I install the acoustic foam?

Installation is simple using our specially formulated spray adhesive. Self-adhesive backing options are also available for some products like the Class 0 Pyrosorb-S sheet.

What colour is the acoustic foam available in?

How many acoustic foam tiles do I need per square meter?

Small tiles (12") = 10.75 tiles per m²

Large tiles (24") = 2.69 tiles per m²

Which acoustic foam is best for a home studio or home cinema?

Convoluted or flat acoustic sheets and tiles suit home studios, home cinemas and podcast rooms. Place foam at the first reflection points, the walls level with your speakers and the ceiling above the seating, for the biggest improvement. Where fire regulations apply, such as commercial or public rooms, choose Class 0 Pyrosorb-S.

Can acoustic foam be fitted to ceilings as well as walls?

Yes. Acoustic foam is lightweight, so it fixes to ceilings as easily as walls using our spray adhesive, and Class 0 Pyrosorb-S products come with self-adhesive backing. Treating the ceiling above the listening area is one of the most effective upgrades in small rooms.

How much of a room should I cover with acoustic foam?

Covering roughly 20% to 40% of the wall area, concentrated at reflection points and corners, gives a clear improvement in most rooms. Complete coverage is rarely necessary and can leave a room sounding unnaturally dead.

Will acoustic foam soundproof a room completely?

Acoustic foam improves the sound inside a room by absorbing echo and reverberation, but it does not block sound travelling through walls. Full soundproofing needs mass and sealing, such as insulated stud walls and sealed gaps. Many customers combine foam for sound quality with structural measures for isolation.
